ARDICOM's DCN is a Digital Communications Network that spans the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and
the Yukon. It offers high-speed data services with redundancy and reliability in its design and operations.
Using frame relay technology over dedicated satellite channels, and, where available, digital microwave,
the DCN offers scalable connections ranging from a full T1 to 64k, depending on community size and demands.
The frame relay network has two regional hubs with all communities configured to a hub in either
Yellowknife or Iqaluit. Local access to the network (CSU/DSU) is included in our pricing. The Network
Operations Control Centre (24 / 7 / 365) monitors and controls the operation and performance of the
network and is located in Yellowknife.
Reacting to the specific needs of our northern service area, ARDICOM offers guaranteed bandwidth (CIR) in
fractional increments on a monthly, daily or even hourly basis. Optional solutions for B.O.D. (Bandwidth
On Demand) provide for an advanced H.323 video conference solution connected to national ISDN services.
Custom frame relay port configurations are also available, offering cost effective asymmetrical
configurations for your unique application needs.
ARDICOM's Regional Frame Relay service is designed to connect to southern frame relay network / providers
via our NNIs (Network to Network Interfaces) with Telus, Bell and AT&T. Furthermore, our DCN is integrated to
the Internet offering Frame Relay Virtual Circuits that can terminate directly on the regional Internet
backbone.
We recognize that every customer is unique and has specific requirements, therefore we provide custom
pricing options based on service configuration, contract length, bandwidth, and/or number of service
connections.
ARDICOM customers benefit from reliable, cost-effective data transmission throughout the North with links
to the rest of the world. ARDICOM welcomes the opportunity to develop a service package which meets your
needs.
